family reportedly missing at sea. the search started on sunday off the monterey coast. kron 4's justine waldman tells us. why the coast guard thinks the panicked distress call could be fake. it might have been all done for nothing. the coast guard, national guard and the navy. searched the choppy and cold waters and helicopter looking for a lost family on a crippled 29-foot sailboat. all based on this distress radio call. >> coast guard, coast guard, we are abandoning ship". but with no missing persons reports, never finding a boat with a name even similar to charmblow and no sign of a wreckage. crews suspended their search for a couple and two young children. now thinking, a possible phony made up that panicked call for help.
